A complex Lirac combining freshness and smoothness, with a ruby color and violet hues. It offers a nose of red fruits such as cherry and morello cherry. After a full-bodied and firm attack, the palate expresses hints of spice and supple tannins that linger until the finish. It is a rich wine with very good length.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 05/03/2023
Full-bodied, rich and fleshy on the palate, perfectly balanced and infused with intense, perfectly ripe red fruit flavors that unfold at a steady pace, accompanied by sweet spices and a hint of balsamic. Supported by beautiful, dense tannins, already well polished and enveloping, with a velvety texture, which bring a lot of substance and volume. They extend the finish, with notes of pepper and licorice. This benchmark Lirac with a pulpy profile will reach its full potential after a few years of aging. However, already irresistible, it paired perfectly with wild boar stew and gratin dauphinois. Rounded and offering excellent value for money, Lafond's Lirac is a serious competitor to Dame Rousse de la Mordorée. Rating = 4.
