"The 2022 Lirac Roc-Epine is a classic wine, with notes of ripe red and black fruits, peppery garrigue, and Provençal spices. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied, full on the palate, ripe, and textured. Made from 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, destemmed and aged in tanks, this pure and raw expression of this remarkable terroir should be embraced by readers. I love it now, but it should age well for 7 to 8 years.” (Jeb Dunnuck 2025)

Review by Mr. Gilles D. Published on November 1, 2025
When fully mature, this Lirac captivates with its robust, full-bodied, and rounded profile, offering juicy, intense flavors of red and black fruits with spicy and vanilla undertones, as well as balsamic notes from its restrained aging. These elements are supported by polished, enveloping tannins with a fleshy, velvety texture that carries through to a sleek finish enhanced by a hint of pepper. Very reasonable price. Pure delight when paired with fine cuts of red meat or game dishes, such as a traditional red wine rabbit stew served with chanterelle mushrooms. Rating = 4.1.
