The Lirac Roc-Epine 2022 is a classic wine, with notes of ripe red and black fruits, peppery garrigue, and Provençal spices. It is medium-bodied to full-bodied, full on the palate, ripe, and textured. Made from 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, destemmed and aged in vats, this pure and raw expression of this formidable terroir should be embraced by readers. I love it today, but it should be drinkable for 7 to 8 years." (Jeb Dunnuck 2025)

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 11/01/2025
When mature, this Lirac seduces with its full-bodied, round profile, which releases juicy flavors of very intense red and black fruits with spicy and vanilla nuances, as well as balsamic notes left by understated aging, around polished, enveloping tannins with a fleshy, velvety feel, ending with a touch of pepper. Very reasonably priced. Pure joy when paired with fine cuts of red meat or game dishes, such as a traditional red wine rabbit stew with chanterelle mushrooms. Rating = 4.1.
