Luc Pélaquié - Lirac blanc 2021
2*Étoiles
Hachette
“An affordable gourmet wine”
"Made from equal parts Clairette and Grenache, with added Viognier and a hint of Marsanne, vinified and aged in 500-liter barrels for four months, this cuvée charms with its complex and captivating nose of hawthorn, cut grass, and dried apricot, enhanced by a touch of butter. On the palate, it is lively on the attack, then full-bodied and silky, with notes of chamomile and toasted bread, driven by a lovely tension that gives it a long finish.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2023)

A light golden-yellow or medium-deep straw-yellow color. On the nose, hints of white fruit and green melon, but primarily wild fennel and various garrigue herbs. Wood notes are beautifully interwoven into the bouquet. On the palate, an initial burst of citrus, grapefruit, green melon, juicy vegetables, fine acidity, power, and plenty of body. Perfect balance. A long, lingering finish with a sensation of glycerin on the lips at the end. A very gastronomic wine. This can easily compete with Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Score: 17.5+/20
