“A Delicate Blend of Marsanne and Roussanne”

"Aromas of stone fruit, honeyed orange, crushed stone, and subtle floral notes emerge from the 2024 Saint Joseph Blanc, a blend of 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne aged in 600-liter and 228-liter barrels. It is medium-bodied and offers a pure, complex, and elegant palate, superb acidity, and a lovely finish. This is a magnificent Saint-Joseph Blanc that will benefit from a year of bottle aging and will shine over the next decade.” (Jeb Dunnuck 2026)

Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

The Gripa family arrived in Saint-Péray in the 17th century and later settled in Mauves around 1850. A trusted name in the northern Rhône Valley, renowned for both its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines (as evidenced by the numerous Favorites in both appellations), the estate has been managed since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard, who now oversees 18 hectares of vineyards.

Rated estate (2024 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

Fabrice Gripa carries on his father’s legacy at the Mauves estate, the only one that produces as many white wines as reds. He has a perfect command of his craft, producing a range of cuvées with distinct personalities. The whites stand out in four cuvées: two Saint-Péray and two Saint-Joseph. The reds are fruit-forward, with a sense of integrity and admirable aging management. A consistent estate producing wines of very high quality.

About the wine:

Hints of sage on the nose, with notes of ripe stone fruit. An intense palate featuring honey, peach, and apple. Powerful yet always balanced. Long-finishing, with just enough acidity to carry it through.
