“Marsanne Concentrate”

"More serious and concentrated, the 2024 Saint Joseph Le Berceau Blanc offers fresh aromas of quince, crushed stone, orange blossom, and spicy notes on the nose. It is medium-bodied and has a concentrated, elegant palate with beautifully integrated acidity, as well as a concentration and depth that will allow it to benefit from 1 to 2 years of bottle aging and to age gracefully for a good ten years." (Jeb Dunnuck 2026)

Wine rated (2025 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

A powerful, well-structured white St-Joseph. It displays remarkable intensity, great concentration, intense freshness, notes of citrus peel bitterness, and lively acidity. It offers a long, mineral finish and will age very well. Undoubtedly one of the best whites of the vintage for this appellation. Old vines grown in the St-Joseph vineyard.

About the estate:

The Gripa family arrived in Saint-Péray in the 17th century and settled in Mauves around 1850. A trusted name in the northern Rhône Valley, renowned for both its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines (as evidenced by the numerous Favorites in both appellations), the estate has been managed since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard, who now oversees 18 hectares of vineyards.

Rated estate (2024 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

Fabrice Gripa carries on his father’s legacy at the Mauves estate, the only one that produces as many white wines as reds. He has a perfect command of his craft, producing a range of cuvées with distinct personalities. The whites stand out in four cuvées: two Saint-Péray and two Saint-Joseph. The reds are fruit-forward, with a sense of integrity and admirable aging management. A consistent estate producing wines of very high quality.

An appealing hint of fennel seeds on the nose. Well-balanced on the palate with good fruit concentration. A lovely underlying freshness enlivens this wine and gives it its full depth. A beautiful energy that unfolds with elegance.

The 2024 Saint-Joseph Blanc Le Berceau is delicious right from the moment it’s opened, with pronounced aromas of honeysuckle, yellow apple, and crushed white flowers.
