About the wine:

Full-bodied, rich, and generous, yet smooth and supple on the palate. The oak is currently very pronounced, but it should mellow with time. A classic St-Péray in terms of its charm and elegance. Low acidity, yet still fresh. Grown on clay-limestone soils; aged in barrels.

About the wine:

Roussanne makes up the majority (60%) of this cuvée, which showcases finesse with its delicate bouquet of acacia and crushed almonds, and its delicate, coating palate, underscored by an elegant bitterness. Still in its youth, it will be allowed to develop further in the shade of the cellar.

About the estate:

The Gripa family arrived in Saint-Péray in the 17th century and then settled in Mauves around 1850. A trusted name in the northern Rhône Valley, both for its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines (as evidenced by the numerous “ Favorites ” awards received in both appellations), the estate has been managed since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard, who now oversees 18 hectares of vineyards.

Medium- to full-bodied, it is textured, complex, and full-flavored, offering depth and a beautiful, well-integrated richness. The acidity creates a precise structure, providing balance and definition on the palate. Long and elegant, this is a particularly well-rounded wine that should continue to improve with age.

About the estate:

Fabrice Gripa carries on his father’s legacy at the sole Mauves estate, which produces as many white wines as reds. He has a perfect command of his craft, crafting various cuvées with distinct personalities. The whites stand out in four cuvées: two Saint-Péray and two Saint-Joseph. The reds, meanwhile, are fruit-forward, with structure and admirable aging management. A consistent estate producing wines of very high quality.

Very good length with a rich, opulent palate. The oak aging lends roundness without being overpowering.
