"One of the finest Syrahs in the appellation!"

“Ground graphite, notes of freshly picked black plum, blackberry, and a delicate hint of wood smoke open the 2024 Saint-Joseph Le Berceau. Enveloped in ripe tannins, this medium-bodied to full-bodied wine is a particularly compact Le Berceau, distinguished by its elegant austerity and superb overall freshness in this early stage. ” (Vinous 2026)

Rated Estate (2024 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

The Gripa family arrived in Saint-Péray in the 17th century and later settled in Mauves around 1850. A trusted name in the northern Rhône Valley, both for its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines (as evidenced by the numerous Favorites in both appellations), the estate has been run since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard, who now oversees 18 hectares of vineyards.

Rated Estate (2024 Guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

Fabrice Gripa carries on his father’s legacy at the sole Mauves estate, which produces as many white wines as reds. He has a perfect command of his craft, producing various cuvées with distinct personalities. The whites stand out in four cuvées: two Saint-Péray and two Saint-Joseph. The reds, meanwhile, are fruit-forward, with integrity and admirable aging management. A consistent estate producing wines of very high quality.
