About the wine:
A powerful, well-structured white St-Joseph. It displays remarkable intensity, great concentration, intense freshness, notes of citrus peel bitterness, and lively acidity. It offers a long, briny finish and will age very well. Undoubtedly one of the best whites of the vintage for this appellation. Old vines grown in the St-Joseph lieu-dit.

About the estate:
The Gripa family arrived in Saint-Péray in the 17th century and later settled in Mauves around 1850. A trusted name in the northern Rhône Valley, both for its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines (as evidenced by the numerous Favorites in both appellations), the estate has been run since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard, who now oversees 18 hectares of vineyards.

Made entirely from Marsanne, the 2024 Saint-Joseph Blanc Le Berceau is a superb expression of this exceptional terroir, revealing aromas of herbs, white flowers, ripe orchard fruits, and spices, intertwined with delicate minty notes. Medium- to full-bodied, dense, and complex, it is lively and enveloping, centered around a vibrant, fleshy fruit core, framed by a refined acidity. It concludes with a long, airy finish, enhanced by a well-balanced, gastronomic bitterness.

About the estate:
Fabrice Gripa carries on his father’s legacy at the sole Mauves estate, which produces as many white wines as reds. He has a perfect command of his craft, producing various cuvées with distinct personalities. The whites stand out in four cuvées: two Saint-Péray and two Saint-Joseph. The reds, meanwhile, are fruit-forward, with integrity and admirable aging management. A consistent estate producing wines of very high quality.
