About the wine:
A very aromatic style, with dominant notes of violet at this stage. Fuller on the palate, rounder and more powerful than this producer’s Saint-Joseph, with a slightly higher alcohol content and a bit less acidity. Surprisingly ripe and generous for a 2023 vintage, with a lovely velvety texture. Sourced from a high-altitude vineyard located in the Le Paradis cru in Mauve, planted in 2001.

About the estate:
The Gripa family arrived in Saint-Péray in the 17th century and later settled in Mauves around 1850. A trusted name in the northern Rhône Valley, both for its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines (as evidenced by the numerous Favorites in both appellations), the estate has been run since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard, who now oversees 18 hectares of vineyards.

About the estate:
Fabrice Gripa carries on his father’s legacy at the sole Mauves estate, which produces as many white wines as reds. He has a perfect command of his craft, producing various cuvées with distinct personalities. The whites stand out in four cuvées: two Saint-Péray and two Saint-Joseph. The reds, meanwhile, are fruit-forward, with integrity and admirable aging management. A consistent estate producing wines of very high quality.
