delicate

A pleasant aromatic profile, with the Marsanne revealing notes of medlars and almonds—a classic “granite” style—and oak that complements the fruit. The Roussanne, meanwhile, adds breadth and depth to a palate that is delicately rounded, with distinct bitter notes that lend the wine a sense of fullness. Please note: limited quantities available.

Rated Estate (2021 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

The estate is located in Chavanay, in the hamlet of La Ribaudy, the Faury family’s ancestral home. Lionel Faury cultivates 18 hectares across the Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, and Côte-Rôtie appellations, as well as the Collines Rhodaniennes PGI. We particularly enjoyed the Saint-Joseph wines from recent vintages, which demonstrate that the northern part of the appellation has real potential.
