About the estate:

The Gripa family arrived in Saint-Péray in the 17th century and later settled in Mauves around 1850. A trusted name in the northern Rhône Valley, both for its Saint-Péray and Saint-Joseph wines (as evidenced by the numerous Favorites in both appellations), the estate has been run since 2001 by Fabrice Gripa, son of Bernard, who now oversees 18 hectares of vineyards.

The 2024 Saint-Péray Les Pins, made from vines over 40 years old and planted primarily with Marsanne, reveals aromas of white fruit, pear, white pepper, and candied lemon. Both lively and rich, it is structured by a perfectly balanced bitterness and finishes with an airy aftertaste.

About the estate:

Fabrice Gripa carries on his father’s legacy at the sole Mauves estate, which produces as many white wines as reds. He has a perfect command of his craft, producing various cuvées with distinct personalities. The whites stand out in four cuvées: two Saint-Péray and two Saint-Joseph. The reds, meanwhile, are fruit-forward, with integrity and admirable aging management. A consistent estate producing wines of very high quality.

Produced in slightly larger quantities and composed of 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne, the 2024 Saint-Péray Les Pins comes from the same terroir as Les Figuiers, but with a touch more approachability. Lively aromas of melon, candied orange, chalky minerality, and subtle spicy notes shine through in this medium-bodied, lively, fresh, and concentrated Saint-Péray. It is well-balanced and embodies the vintage’s fresh, concentrated style, along with exceptional length. Best enjoyed between 2026 and 2030.
