Château Manissy

Manissy Castle
Château Manissy is an exceptional setting comprising some 55 hectares of vineyards and an equal amount of woodland and vegetation, creating a unique biodiversity reserve in Tavel. The estate produces numerous wines under the Côtes-du-Rhône, Lirac, Tavel, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellations.

Under the leadership of Florian André, Château Manissy has been steadily returning over the past 20 years to “winemaking common sense,” adopting a more holistic approach that connects people with nature. This agroecological model aims to better harness the interactions between plants, animals, humans, and the environment. As part of this approach, Florian André has certified the entire estate as organic since 2009 and biodynamic since 2017.

The history of Château Manissy dates back to the 17th century, with the first vines planted in 1912 by the Missionary Brothers of the Holy Family marking a new era for the estate. In 2003, Florian André, a young winemaker from Tavel, took over the estate. He has pioneered his own methods and style: preserving the best of tradition while bringing the necessary modernity to the wines and the appellation.
