The nose is rich and complex, with red and black fruit aromas, along with notes of cocoa and spices. On the palate, it is smooth and velvety, built around the purity of the fruit, freshness, and indulgent flavors: strawberry, cherry, and blackcurrant are beautifully highlighted.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Recently taken over, this estate covers about twenty hectares and presents itself as very modern, both in the winemaking process and in its marketing approach, featuring “inspired” packaging and, above all, a boutique-bistro on the port of Banyuls where visitors can sample the wines in their natural setting. Nestled in the heart of the Roume Valley, the winery receives grapes from seven plots spread across different terroirs within the appellation, allowing for complementary winemaking techniques. While their marketing is very savvy, in the vineyard, traditional cultivation methods are preserved, with the vines primarily trained in the gobelet or échalas styles.

Wine rated 1*Star (2017 vintage) (A very successful wine)
Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
Jacques Piriou and Romuald Peronne—the winemaker—joined forces to purchase Domaine Saint-Sébastien in 2008, renaming it Clos Saint-Sébastien in 2014 following the acquisition of Clos Xatard. They made a grand entrance into the Guide with their Collioure wines. In Banyuls, they run a terrace restaurant facing the harbor, Le Jardin de Saint-Sébastien, and offer a boat tour to explore their 20-hectare terraced vineyard from the sea. Their menu features exclusively Collioure and Banyuls wines.
