Domaine Thunevin-Calvet - Côtes du Roussillon Cuvée Constance rouge 2021
3*Étoile
Hachette
"As imperial as his council!"
"With a beautiful deep, intense red color, this superb village wine reveals an equally intense nose of black fruits and cherries in brandy, mingled with notes of licorice and smoke. A clean, frank attack opens onto a perfectly balanced mid-palate, centered on fruit, very concentrated and with admirable length. A wine of very high expression, to drink now or keep, which will be a perfect accompaniment to a Rossini tournedos." (Guide Hachette 2025)

Aromas of ripe fruit and Provençal herbs. Full-bodied on the palate. 14.5% alcohol. Drink in moderation.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 07/09/2025
Medium-bodied, this terroir wine is fresh, voluminous, fleshy, and smooth on the palate. Firm, pronounced tannins envelop a generous blend of fruit and spices, with a touch of dark chocolate and a hint of graphite, giving the wine a supple and deliciously creamy texture. The finish is long and deep with salty and earthy notes. Offered at a great price, this lovely, uncompromising wine is best paired with hearty dishes, such as marinated suckling pig on a spit to celebrate Bastille Day with the family. Rating = 4.
