About the wine:
A blend of 40% Syrah, 40% Carignan, and the remainder Grenache Noir, the 2021 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Compagnie des Papillons exudes a rich and vibrant bouquet of raspberries, dark berries, flowers, and spices intertwined with thyme. Moderately-bodied, smooth, and energetic, it is lively, with good depth on the palate, and finishes long, fresh, and rich. It is a rich and elegant wine that is at its peak right now.

About the estate:
Arthur and Eddy Bertrand arrived in Belesta in 2020 to take over the estate from Eric and Lèia Monné, the former owners. Hailing from Provence, the two brothers had long dreamed of taking over a small, family-run estate in the Mediterranean region. Le Clot de l'Oum was the obvious choice for them, with its 12 hectares of vines that are over 20 years old. The major advantage? Its high-altitude location, between 300 and 600 meters. Passionate about the terroirs of Roussillon, they express in their wines the distinctive characteristics of Mediterranean grape varieties grown on schist, granite, and gneiss soils. In the cellar, sulfur is used sparingly. They work without fining or filtration, using indigenous yeasts.
