The 2016 Galamus displays beautiful maturity, with a nose of remarkable complexity where oak and fruit complement each other perfectly. On the palate, it reveals noble, powerful tannins which, combined with a lovely roundness, give the wine great depth. A wine with character!

About the estate:
The Grier family, owners of a South African vineyard renowned for its sparkling wines, established this 25-hectare estate in a single block in the Fenouillèdes region in 2006. They entrusted its management to Raphël Graugnard, who brings his extensive experience to crafting wines that embody the successful union of the Old and New Worlds.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated wine (2018 guide) 90–92/100 (2016 vintage) (An outstanding wine)
Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Not yet bottled, the 2016 Galamus is a blend of nearly equal parts Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan, aged in 30% new oak. Notes of toast, cedar, and vanilla dominate the nose, but there is plenty of rich, velvety fruit to balance things out. It is full-bodied and ripe, bordering on heat and excess, so drink it as soon as it’s released and over the next two years to enjoy its hedonistic qualities.
