“Grenache, the dominant grape variety, imparts a delicate cherry-red color that lends this cuvée an air of freshness and youth. The nose surprises with its complexity: Burlat cherry, violet, and citrus zest. Taut and well-balanced between softness and tannins, the palate emphasizes freshness and finesse over power, rounded off by a lingering, lively fruity note on the finish.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

About the wine:

Grenache, the dominant grape variety, imparts a delicate cherry-red color that lends this cuvée an air of freshness and youthfulness. The nose surprises with its complexity: Burlat cherries, violets, and citrus zest. Taut and well-balanced between softness and tannins, the palate emphasizes freshness and finesse over power, rounded out on the finish by a lively, lingering fruity note.

About the estate:

The son of Breton farmers who emigrated to the United States, born in Manhattan and of French-American descent, Patrick Rety has realized his dream: making wine and working to express the terroir. He studied and began his career in Brittany, selling franchises for a restaurant chain. In 2012, his estate (now 4 hectares) was established near Rivesaltes. Currently in the process of converting to organic farming (biodynamic).

I was very disappointed with this wine; it was very closed despite being decanted for a long time.

Despite a rather alcoholic nose, the wine reveals quite fruity aromas on the palate with a very crisp finish. Decant for at least an hour. A wonderful discovery; a promising winery.

Review by Mr. BERNARD L. Published on September 28, 2018

The bitterness of this wine is quite off-putting. Perhaps it needs time to develop... And even after a few months in the cellar, it remains an unpleasant wine; its harsh alcohol notes and very subdued aroma make it a disappointment.

Review by Mr. PIERRE K. Published on July 26, 2018

The nose offers fresh cherry with a hint of violet, complemented by a very light touch of gray pepper. A floral note also emerges from the glass. The attack is lively and pleasant; cherry comes through immediately, followed by macerated black fruit and a hint of spice. The finish is clean and short, with tannins that are still a bit harsh. A wine with a lovely balance that emphasizes elegance and (moderate) freshness, making us forget the 14.5% alcohol content.

We've tasted a much better Cote du Roussillon. I went by the positive reviews but was disappointed in the end.

Be sure to let this wine breathe for a good hour beforehand... otherwise, it’s pure bliss
