Rated estate (2024 guide) Green Guide (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the estate:

A discreet family estate located in Maury, the domaine has been in the hands of two brothers, Florent and Mathieu Semper, since 2015. The 27 hectares of vineyards are mainly spread across the black schist soils of Maury and the granite arenas of Lesquerde. The two winemakers built up this beautiful estate by buying up certain properties that had been abandoned, with beautiful, somewhat neglected vineyards at altitude.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 10/10/2025

A cocktail of intense notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, and black cherry, slightly spicy, framed by well-developed and present tannins, concentrates on the palate, which is full-bodied yet round and balanced by a welcome mineral freshness. A lingering finish where the warmth comes through. Although it can be kept for a good year, this characterful wine can be enjoyed today with an autumnal dish such as a simmered Languedoc beef stew, embellished with a square of dark chocolate and spiced up with a pinch of Espelette pepper.
