About the estate:

A discreet family-owned estate located in Maury, the property has been run by brothers Florent and Mathieu Semper since 2015. The vineyards, totaling 27 hectares, are primarily planted on the black schist soils of Maury and the granite-rich sandy soils of Lesquerde. The two winemakers built this lovely estate by purchasing several vineyards that were on the verge of being abandoned, including some beautiful, slightly neglected high-altitude vineyards.

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 10/10/2025

A blend of intense notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, and black cherry, with a hint of spice, framed by well-integrated, pronounced tannins, comes together in a full-bodied palate that is nonetheless round and balanced by a welcome mineral freshness. The finish is lingering, revealing the wine’s warm character. Although it can be cellared for a good year, this full-bodied wine can be enjoyed right now paired with an autumn dish such as a slow-simmered Languedoc-style beef stew, enhanced with a square of dark chocolate and spiced with a pinch of Espelette pepper.
