Domaine noté (guide 2024) Guide Vert (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the domain :

A discreet family estate located in Maury, the domaine has been in the hands of the two brothers Florent and Mathieu Semper since 2015. The 27-hectare plot of land is mainly spread over the black schists of Maury and the granitic arenas of Lesquerde. The two winemakers built up this attractive heritage by buying up some estates doomed to abandonment, with beautiful, somewhat neglected high-altitude vineyards.

About the wine:

The Maury is still in its youthful ardor, with a tight structure served by a fine sugar-alcohol balance. Two or three years in bottle will allow it to relax.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 15/11/2025

Full-bodied, warm and fruity, with a strong intensity of prune and fruit brandy, embedded in a supple, unctuous texture. Persistent, enveloping finish. Still young, but already so delicious that it makes you want to come back for an aperitif with foie gras canapés, a jugged hare and, of course, a dark chocolate Yule log.
