The 2016 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Tautavel is a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 20% Carignan, with 10% of the blend aged in new French oak barrels. There is a hint of powdered cedar on the nose, but it is not overpowering, allowing the black cherries and blackberries to come through. A Roussillon wine offering excellent value for money. Ruby color. Nose of candied morello cherry. Well-balanced on the palate, full-bodied, powerful without astringency.
