Domaine La Casenove

Domaine La Casenove is a very old winegrowing estate, which has remained in the same family for over four hundred years. Domaine La Casenove, a 50-hectare estate managed by Étienne Montes and located 10 kilometers south of Perpignan, close to the Mediterranean and on the first slopes of the Aspres, produces some of the region's finest Vins de Pays des Côtes Catalanes, as well as tasty Vins Doux Naturels, such as Rivesaltes or Muscat de Rivesaltes.

Domaine La Casenove's grape varieties are historically linked to this southern region, and over time have demonstrated their perfect suitability to this terroir. The clay soils, with their discontinuous veins of river pebbles, produce generous, powerful, fleshy Vins de Pays des Côtes Catalanes, with firm but well-coated tannins. The heterogeneous nature of Domaine La Casenove 's vineyard plots calls for very strict selection at harvest time, which is carried out by hand after berry tasting. The diversity of grape varieties and the different ages of the vines mean that several different wines can and must be produced.
