Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2024) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the wine:
This cuvée has undergone a very ambitious three-year aging process in oak barrels, which naturally results in a bouquet dominated by oak at this stage, with a nice fruitiness emerging in the background. On the palate, it offers volume, power, and concentration, yet no harshness, with tannins that are well-integrated into the wine. It has character.
About the estate:
Cathy and Daniel Fournié took over this 30-hectare estate in 1998, which has been certified organic since 2012. As self-taught winemakers, they sought advice from neighboring vintners. They learned quickly and effectively, as evidenced by the regular selections featured in these pages. Their daughter Mathilde joined them in 2015.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated wine (2024 guide) 93/100 (Excellent wine)
About the wine:
Aromas of dark wild berries, cedar, smoke, and spices set the stage for the 2020 Pur Plaisir, a full-bodied, enveloping, layered, and concentrated, featuring a vibrant tannic structure, a fleshy core of fruit, and velvety tannins leading to a long, delicate finish scented with violets. Fermented and aged for 36 months in oak barrels, this is a true labor of love and a great wine in the making.

Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
In addition to its freshness, it has a rich, succulent texture, accented by silky, flavorful tannins. The bouquet offers a medley of dark fruits, licorice, and mint.
About the estate:
Since 1998, Cathy and Daniel Fournié have been running this family-owned estate, joined in 2015 by their daughter Mathilde. With guidance from Pascal and Jean-Marc Verhaeghe (Château du Cèdre), they showcase the third terraces of the Lot region. Their approach respects both the soil and the grapes’ ripeness, and each vintage reflects this commitment to quality. The range continues to gain in precision: even the classics offer Malbecs that are supple, elegant, and full of energy.
