Domaine Plageoles - Syrah 2012

Domaine Plageoles - Syrah 2012

A new vintage, the 2011 was rated: RVF 14.5/20
This lovely Syrah offers a clean attack and nice acidity on the palate, with fine tannins. The nose reveals aromas of ripe red fruits reminiscent of blueberries, with spicy and concentrated notes. Ideal with barbecued duck breast, for example.

Rated Estate (2023 Guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

The Plageoles family has left its mark on the recent history of wine in Gaillac. Robert, followed by Bernard and Myriam—who brilliantly carried on his legacy—were pioneers in championing local grape varieties and traditional winemaking techniques. The next generation is gradually taking the reins through Bernard’s sons, Florent and Romain, who are wholeheartedly dedicated to the twelve varieties in their vineyard, including the delicious Prunelart, the extremely rare Verdanel, and the quartet of Mauzac (green, red, pink, and black). Unconcerned with trends and off the beaten path, the estate continues to produce, with the utmost care, exclusively single-varietal wines endowed with strong personalities. This work of the mind, heart, and hands is fully reflected in a range of wines that strive for purity, integrity, and originality.
