Clos Triguedina - Chenin 2012 (moelleux)
15/20
RVF
“The 2012 Moelleux offers surprising notes of chocolate and wheat. It is full-bodied yet retains a pleasant sweetness.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF) Harvested late, the Chenin Blanc here expresses aromas of fruit paste accompanied by a mineral note. A lovely balance without heaviness.

It pairs well as an aperitif, with foie gras on toast, or with pan-seared foie gras served with lightly caramelized fruit, blue cheese, or desserts (pear, apricot, or mango).
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Jean-Luc Baldès carries on the family legacy of this historic estate in Cahors. A large portion of the 65 hectares lies on the third terraces of Vire, along the banks of the Lot. The rest is situated on the Causse plateau and its whiter soils. While the intelligent plot selection reflects the estate’s heritage, the Prince-Probus blend offers a true representation of modern Cahors—vibrant and juicy. A must-visit destination.

About the wine:
The 2012 Moelleux isn't particularly complex, but it offers surprising notes of chocolate and wheat. It's full-bodied but retains a smooth sweetness.
About the estate:
Jean-Luc Baldès was a champion of Cahors Malbec, striving to bring out the full potential of his vineyard, located on the second, third, and fourth terraces of the Lot River. As a guardian of the vineyard’s history, the “black wine” and the Probus cuvée once brought fame to Cahors. Today, the estate is focusing on wine tourism and attempting to produce more modern wines, without really succeeding. We are therefore removing the star this year.
