The estate's plots are planted on marine geological sites, as 23 million years ago, this region was covered by the sea. As a result, the vines now grow on deep, stony clay-limestone soils, ideal for producing dry wines. The Haut Marin estate also produces sweet wines on deep fawn-colored sandy soils.
