Kanonkop - Stellenbosch Paul Sauer 2019

"Composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 11% Merlot, the 2019 Paul Sauer offers aromas of woody pencil shavings, turned earth, and dark red and black fruits on the nose, before layers of oak spices and floral notes of blackberry emerge. Medium-bodied, the wine is still young with a juicy, tannic edge, while succulent acidity and a burst of bright red fruit flavors shine through the mid-palate. The finish is firmly tannic and needs a little time in the bottle to find its rhythm. Give it another two years, and drink it over the next two decades. " (Wine Advocate 2022)
