"A testament to one of the world's finest Rieslings: a perfect 100/100 from Suckling for this extraordinary, limited-production vintage!"
"Nothing in the world is more fundamental than the interplay between light and darkness, and this wine brings that to your glass in a thoroughly compelling way. The minerality of this dry Riesling is incredibly intense. It is a giant of originality, yet it sits at the upper end of medium-bodied, giving it a fantastic sense of lightness. Extraordinary concentration and precision in an enchanting and utterly captivating finish. [...]” (James Suckling 2023)

Vinous
Wine rated (2024 guide) 98/100
About the wine:
The 2023 Westhofener Morstein Grosses Gewächs Riesling still exhibits a slight flinty reduction on its fresh nose, but with aeration, lemon notes emerge and take center stage. The palate is equally lemony and immediately projects a refreshing, moist, and chalky depth. The palate is slender and sinks deep into this chalky depth. Scented with lemon and resting on a soothing citric yeast, the finish is utterly zesty, precise, linear, immaculate, and very long. 2028–2060
