Blending is permitted for the Kaefferkopf Grand Cru. 70% Gewürztraminer and 30% Riesling are harvested on the same day from the oldest vineyards, which are between 60 and 70 years old. The Grand K has a golden straw-yellow color and offers a blend of aromas of yellow fruit, white flowers, and candied lemon. A perfect balance on the palate, where the fruit and spices of the Gewürztraminer blend harmoniously with the minerality and elegance of the Riesling. A Grand Kaefferkopf with a Grand K!

Nose

Very appealing, the nose is a blend of aromas of yellow-fleshed fruits (peach, mango), white flowers (acacia, jasmine), and candied lemon

Palate

Smooth and delicate. Fruity and spicy notes typical of Gewürztraminer. The finish is enhanced by the exceptional freshness of Riesling.

About the estate:

Located in Ammerschwihr, a major wine-growing village northwest of Colmar, this estate celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2014. Its 17th-century cellars house old oak casks that are still in use. It combines a wine merchant operation with a biodynamically farmed vineyard.

A precise, well-crafted wine with lovely balance. Excellent with a fruit- or vegetable-based dessert.
