Jean-Baptiste Adam
Domaine Jean-Baptiste Adam, a family of Alsace winegrowers handed down from father to son since 1614, is now in its 14th generation and is a benchmark in Ammerschwihr. Steeped in this genuine heritage and know-how, the new generation continues to work with respect for the traditions of the Alsace appellation, while keeping up with modern times and today's challenges. So, in 2003, a new impetus was given to the estate with the switch to biodynamic vineyard management and modernization of the cellars and winery.

The pride of Maison Jean-Baptiste Adam lies in the little-known Kaefferkopf d'Ammerschwihr, which has been renowned since the Middle Ages, and which in 2007 was recognized as a Grand Cru d'Alsace. This 71-hectare, sun-drenched terroir to the south of Ammerschwihr is made up of several sub-Tuscan hills at an altitude of 240 to 320 meters. The wines produced here are both racy and refined.
This terroir, so dear to Domaine Jean-Baptiste Adam and the family, is available in 3 cuvées: Riesling Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, Kaefferkopf "Cuvée Traditionnelle".

Two other terroirs are also highlighted by Domaine J.B Adam: the Grand Cru Wineck Schlossberg and the Letzenberg terroir. Most of the production is made up of white wines from traditional Alsatian grape varieties: sylvaner, pinot blanc, riesling, muscat, pinot gris, gewurztraminer and the famous pinot noir for red wine.
