“This Riesling comes from two plots of 70-year-old vines on the granite-rich section of the Kaefferkopf. It is the estate’s flagship cuvée. The bouquet displays minerality complemented by hints of sage and lime. The wine has a certain fullness as well as refreshing acidity. A Kaefferkopf that is beginning to reveal its terroir, but it clearly shows that it needs time. A compelling wine, both for its complexity and its length.” (Yves Beck 2023)

Located in Ammerschwihr, a major wine-growing village northwest of Colmar, this estate celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2014. Its 17th-century cellars house old oak casks that are still in use. It combines a wine merchant operation with a biodynamically farmed vineyard.

On the palate, it is generous with citrus and pears, balanced by a deliciously lively citrus acidity, with a firm texture that adds to its impressive length.
