Blending is permitted for the Kaefferkopf Grand Cru. 70% Gewürztraminer and 30% Riesling are harvested on the same day from the oldest vineyards, which are between 60 and 70 years old. The Grand K has a golden straw-yellow color and offers a blend of aromas of yellow fruit, white flowers, and candied lemon. About the estate:
Located in Ammerschwihr, a major wine-growing village northwest of Colmar, this winery celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2014. Its 17th-century cellars house old oak barrels that are still in use. It combines a wine merchant operation with a biodynamically farmed vineyard.
