Produced from a 1.3-hectare plot on limestone-sandstone soil, the Pinot Noir Les Jardins is an Alsatian red wine crafted with skill and passion. The first aromas to emerge are nutmeg and flint, followed by black cherry and licorice... The tannins are full-bodied and rich, silky smooth with a very long finish featuring red fruit notes. A truly beautiful Alsatian red!

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2024 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Upon returning to the estate in 1999, Matthieu Boesch quickly decided to make the transition to organic and biodynamic farming, earning certification in 2006. However, while sound practices are one thing, it took more time for the wines to find their balance in the glass—for the added acidity and tension to complement each other as the wine develops over time. For the past two vintages, we’ve found that this is now the case. Good news!

Rated estate (2024 guide) 1*Star (Rising stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
As passionate advocates of biodynamics for over a decade, Matthieu and his wife Marie represent the eleventh generation of the Léon Boesch estate, located in the heart of the Vallée Noble. Here, the Zinnkoepflé grand cru is now dedicated exclusively to Gewürztraminer, with the aim of establishing it as a benchmark for a dry, full-bodied style. The estate has been practicing biodynamic agriculture since 2000, and the winery, inaugurated in Westhalten in 2010, is a bioclimatic model. The wines possess depth and perfectly express the region’s terroirs.

Great body, but the aroma is a little too meaty.

A pleasant red that’s worth waiting a few years for its tannins to mellow....
