Robert Parker

Golden yellow in color, the 2014 Pinot Gris Bruderbach Le Menhir offers a rich, intense, and spicy/lactic nose with aromas of botrytis [...]. Full-bodied, round and elegant, with a rather fluid but still vibrant acidity, fine tannins and a long minerality, this is an intense, vinous but pure, fresh and mineral Pinot, grown on chalky sandstone soils and vinified dry. The finish is clean and shows good intensity and length, but also some notes of burnt milk. Try this Pinot with intense fish dishes. Ready to drink." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2017 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Étienne Loew is courageously fighting to raise awareness of the little-known terroirs of Westhalten, where very few winegrowers bottle their wine. Careful vinification and long aging (mainly in stainless steel vats) produce pure, precise wines, with the Rieslings being very dry.

Rated estate (2017 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

For several years now, this estate, skillfully managed by Etienne Loew, has won us over with its consistent production and excellent wines. He has found the key to fully unlocking the nuances of the soils around Westhoffen, and defends this somewhat isolated vineyard like a guardian watching over his ramparts! His touch is sure, his thinking open, and his wines are distinguished by their elegance. A winery worth discovering.
