"The Monteviejo 2006, with its intense purple color, is composed of Malbec, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 16 months in French oak barrels. It has an intense aroma of toast, pencil lead, lavender, black cherry, blueberry, and licorice. On the palate, it has substance and structure. This cuvée offers another dimension of complexity: it is the result of an exceptional vintage and tannins that are ripe enough to carry the wine for several years" (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker). Wine rated (2010 guide) 93/100
About wine:
A very good wine from Mendoza's Uco Valley, opening with lovely fruit, beautiful richness, and a well-integrated earthiness. The palate is explosive but not unbalanced. Aromas of black plum combine with small black fruits, fig paste, and chocolate. Smoky and sensual, with notes of mocha and coffee on the finish.
