Tried and tested

A concentrated wine whose aroma is somewhat reminiscent of a Ruby Port LBV, this Morgon beautifully captures the essence of its terroir of origin: "Corcelette." A well-structured wine with discernible tertiary notes. Quite simply, the perfect wine for any occasion!

Rated wine (2022 guide) 14.5/20 (2019 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

In the heart of the village of Chiroubles, on the “green balcony” of the Beaujolais region, Christophe—a sixth-generation winemaker—cultivates 16.5 hectares, 14 of which are located within his own cru. Using the (traditional) semi-carbonic maceration method, he destems the grapes in plots where they are not yet ripe. He sells all his wine by the bottle at a fair price—the price at which Chiroubles should be sold. We are, however, surprised by the stylistic differences within the range, noting inconsistencies in the most recent vintages.
