2*Étoiles
Hachette
"A Chiroubles aged for a year in oak barrels after a long vatting period. The aim was to produce a structured wine with good tannic density, but without sacrificing suppleness and balance. The result is a long, beautifully rounded wine with notes of peony, plum, and cherry. (Le Guide Hachette 2024) A Chiroubles of great class!

About wine:
A Chiroubles aged for a year in oak barrels after a long vatting period. The aim was to produce a structured wine with good tannic density, but without sacrificing suppleness and balance. The result is a long, beautifully rounded cuvée, expressing notes of peony, plum, and cherry.
About the estate:
Sophie and Christophe Savoye, who have been based in Chiroubles since 1991, have taken over from five generations. They farm 16 hectares spread across the Chiroubles, Morgon, and Régnié AOCs.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
In the center of the village of Chiroubles, on the green balcony of Beaujolais, Christophe, a sixth-generation winemaker, cultivates 16.5 hectares, 14 of which are located in his own vineyard. Using (traditional) semi-carbonic maceration, he destems the grapes in plots where they are not fully ripe. He sells everything in bottles at a fair price, which is what Chiroubles should be sold for. However, we are surprised by the differences in style within the range, noting irregularities in the latest vintages.
