Like the great rosés of Provence, this Bordeaux rosé is the result of direct pressing of grape varieties from the left bank. Unusually for Bordeaux, it is vinified in the same way as the region's white wines: four months in barrels to give this exceptional rosé its richness and delicious flavor. A table rosé to accompany a spicy Mediterranean dish.

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

This estate, named after a Scottish merchant, was taken over by the Mau family in 2005, in partnership with the Dutch company Dirkzwager. Jean-Christophe Mau is passionate about his work and devotes a great deal of energy to the estate, advised by Stéphane Derenoncourt for the reds and Philippe Dulong for the whites. The wines are well-balanced, fruity, harmonious, and balanced. The whites are flawless, precise, and pure. The reds are of very good quality and have a distinct Léognan character. The estate is among the leaders in the appellation.

This property, purchased in 2005 by the Mau and Dirkzwager families, is now managed by Jean-Christophe Mau. He has carried out extensive work on this terroir, which neighbors the classified growth Château Olivier. The latest vintages are of excellent quality, with a classic but full-bodied style that always emphasizes beautiful tannin finesse and fresh fruit.
