Like the great rosés of Provence, this Bordeaux rosé is made by directly pressing grapes from the Left Bank. A rarity in Bordeaux, it is vinified in the same way as the region’s white wines: aged for four months in oak barrels to lend richness and a luscious character to this exceptional rosé. A table rosé perfect for pairing with a spicy Mediterranean dish.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
This estate, named after a Scottish wine merchant, was successfully taken over by the Mau family in 2005, in partnership with the Dutch firm Dirkzwager. Jean-Christophe Mau, a passionate winemaker, devotes a great deal of energy to the estate, advised by Stéphane Derenoncourt for the reds and Philippe Dulong for the whites. The wines are well-balanced, fruit-forward, harmonious, and balanced. The whites are impeccable, precise, and pure. The reds, of a very high standard, possess a distinct Léognan character. The estate ranks among the top producers in the appellation.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
This estate, purchased in 2005 by the Mau and Dirkzwager families, is now managed by Jean-Christophe Mau. He has carried out extensive work on this terroir, which neighbors the Château Olivier classified growth. The most recent vintages have reached an excellent standard, offering a classic yet full-bodied style that consistently emphasizes elegant tannins and fresh fruit.
