“A clean, precise wine that flows smoothly from start to finish. Truly delightful! ~ Decanter”
“Crisp and lively, this wine offers a touch of lively acidity with tart citrus notes that give way to a smoother finish, yet one of exceptional freshness—almost minty. A crisp and precise wine that unfolds in a straight line from start to finish. Lightly structured, but truly very pleasant. ” (Decanter 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve
4-Star Estate (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
This estate, located near Doisy-Daëne and run by Olivier Castéja, has the same type of limestone soil typical of Haut-Barsac and produces a classic sweet wine—rich, full-bodied, and well-ripened—that will appeal to everyone. We appreciate the increased refinement it has shown in recent years, thanks to better protection against oxidation. The prices are reasonable.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Created following the division of Doisy into three estates, this cru bears the name of its former owners (until 1846), the Védrines. It is located near Climens, Coutet, and the other two Doisy estates (Daëne and Dubroca). The château maintains low yields, producing a wine that ranks among the richest on the nose and the sweetest in Barsac. It requires between five and ten years to fully develop, at which point it achieves the distinction and brilliance of the appellation’s star wines.
