Charming, with delicious, lingering tannins. A beautifully crafted red wine from this vintage for the estate.

About the estate:

Pierre Lurton, who is also the director of Château Cheval Blanc and president of Château d’Yquem, purchased Château Marjosse more than twenty years ago, drawn by the old vines and the quality of the terroir: a rather rare occurrence in the Entre-Deux-Mers region, where asterian limestone—the same type that has made Saint-Émilion famous—lies just below the surface. The quality and consistency of this wine, in both white and red, are astonishing. The wines display remarkable balance and purity. They feature vibrant fruit, a silky and harmonious texture, and are highly drinkable while also showing excellent aging potential.
