Puygueraud Castle
Château Puygueraud was acquired by George Thienpont in 1946. He replanted the property with vines in the late 1970s. Since 1983, his son Nicolas has been making the wines with the advice of Stéphane Derenoncourt and Julien Lavenu.

Château Puygueraud expanded its vineyards by restructuring its vineyard and adding new plots. Significant investments were made in the winery with the installation of concrete vats that allow whole berry vinification and punching down. This has enabled progress in defining the plots and improving the precision of extraction. Château Puygueraud is produced mainly from the Merlot grape variety, but with a fairly significant proportion of Cabernet for the appellation and a touch of Malbec, which adds a peppery note to the blend.

Château Puygueraud has become the flagship property of the Côtes de Francs and a benchmark in the revival of this still relatively unknown appellation.
