Château Puygueraud
Château Puygueraud was acquired by George Thienpont in 1946. He replanted the estate with vines in the late 1970s. Since 1983, his son Nicolas has been crafting the wines with the guidance of Stéphane Derenoncourt and Julien Lavenu.

Château Puygueraud is expanding its vineyards through restructuring and the addition of new plots. Significant investments have been made in the winery with the installation of concrete tanks that allow for whole-cluster vinification and punch-down. This enables greater precision in defining the terroir and in the extraction process. Château Puygueraud is produced primarily from the Merlot grape variety, though it includes a fairly significant proportion of Cabernet for the appellation and a touch of Malbec, which adds a peppery note to the blend.

Château Puygueraud has become the “flagship” estate of the Côtes de Francs and a benchmark in the revival of this still-underappreciated appellation.
