“Another fine wine from Puygueraud (the birthplace of the Thienpont family), the 2011 offers a dense blue/violet color accompanied by abundant aromas of blueberry, blackberry, charcoal, and graphite. Clearly superior to its modest pedigree, this revelation of the vintage possesses good structure, beautifully pure fruit, and drinkability for a decade.” (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker) • Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine shipped within France •

Rated estate (2014 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

"The Thienpont family, owners of the estate since 1946, revived the Côtes de Francs appellation in 1983 with this premier cru. Nicolas Thienpont, who also oversees a premier cru classé in Saint-Emilion, produces a full-bodied, generous wine with well-controlled oak, designed for decent aging (five to ten years). The estate is consistent, and the vintages are of a high standard. In tribute to his father George, Nicolas Thienpont has created a cuvée bearing his father’s name, characterized by Malbec, a grape variety he particularly appreciated. A wine of strong character, yet not lacking in finesse.”
