“A beautiful, concentrated red wine distinguished by a rich, full-bodied texture that gives free rein to an exuberant expression of black fruits with superb definition. It even gives the impression of having been aged in oak, even though it was aged exclusively in tanks! ” (The 2015 Guide to Wine Bargains – Gerbelle & Maurange). Estate rated 1*Star (High-Quality Production)

About the estate:

Located in Mazères, in the Graves appellation, Caillivet is owned by the Carrillo family. In 1997, Philippe and his son Antoine established the vineyard on the family’s land—7 hectares planted on clay-gravel soils; the grape varieties include Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The first harvest produced the 2001 vintage.

The wine is undrinkable. Maybe there was a problem during shipping because of the extreme heat.
