About the estate:
The Merlaut family is committed to improving the wines from this fairly large vineyard, located near the Saint-Julien appellations. Here, the focus is not on creating a sensation with the samples, but on consistency and uniformity in the quality of the wine produced. The arrival of a new and talented director has brought greater rigor and precision to the production of a quintessential Médoc wine with character—one that is somewhat austere and reserved when released as en primeur, but gradually reveals notes of cedar and spices. Therefore, opt for the most recent vintages.

Fruity nose (blackberry). It’s light and juicy, with perhaps a hint of bitterness in the fruit, but lovely strawberries and raspberries. The acidity adds vibrancy and body, and there’s a pleasant hint of mint that refreshes the finish. A lighter style.

About the estate:
Camensac, acquired in 2005 by the Merlaut family, is now managed by the Chasse-Spleen team, led by Céline Villars-Foubet and Jean-Pierre Foubet. Recent investments have equipped the estate with the resources needed to rise to the challenge. Over the past few vintages, progress has been substantial, and Camensac is among the wines that enthusiasts should keep a close eye on—especially since prices remain very reasonable, which we welcome.
