"I admire the substance of this Camensac, and the wonderful salinity of the finish. A recommended wine that should age well! ~ Vinous"
"Attractive deep ruby color and excellent aromatic finesse from the oak, which does not dominate but adds layers of smoke to the blackcurrant and black cherry fruit. This wine is both nuanced and complex. It is a delicious wine that opens up with dark chocolate and licorice. Obvious interest and aging potential. (Decanter 2020) - An accessible and highly inviting Médoc Grand Cru Classé! - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 magnums of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Eye
Dark, bright, and clear color
Nose
Before stirring, notes of redcurrants and raspberries. Then come the floral aromas of fresh rose and very light wood with a hint of vanilla.
Mouth
Frank attack, very refined tannins in a supple envelope that perfects the mid-palate. The fruity and floral aromas are confirmed. Harmonious at this stage of development, it promises delicacy. Very long finish that evokes a sensation of tasty redcurrant jelly.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
The Merlaut family strives to improve the wines from this fairly large vineyard, which neighbors the Saint-Julien appellation. Here, the focus is not on producing impressive samples, but rather on consistency and uniformity in the quality of the wine delivered. The arrival of a new and talented director has brought greater rigour and precision to the production of a typical Médoc wine with character, which is somewhat austere and reserved when young, but gradually reveals notes of cedar and spices. The latest vintages are therefore the ones to choose.

About wine:
2018 marks a major success for this vintage, which is beautifully full-bodied on the palate, with volume and depth. Very charming.
About the estate:
Camensac, acquired in 2005 by the Merlaut family, is now managed by the Chasse-Spleen team, led by Céline Villars-Foubet and Jean-Pierre Foubet. Recent investments have equipped the estate with the tools it needs to rise to the challenge. Over the last few vintages, substantial progress has been made and Camensac is one of the wines that enthusiasts should keep a close eye on, especially as the prices remain very reasonable, which we welcome.

About wine:
This estate is regaining its rightful place among the prestigious classified growths. Richly textured, this latest version displays succulent blackberry fruit and layers of firm tannins. The wine will age well, so wait until 2026 to drink it.

About wine:
The 2018 Château de Camensac has retained its appealing aromas, requiring just a little encouragement to reveal notes of blackberry, blueberry, light marine scents, and iris petals that I had noticed when it was released as a primeur in barrel. The palate is medium-bodied, with good structure and well-balanced acidity. I admire the substance of this Camensac and the wonderful salinity of the finish. A recommended wine that should age well. 2022-2036

About wine:
Dried blueberries and currants on the nose, with savory oyster shells, tobacco, and graphite. Dried violets, too. It is medium-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Structured and flavorful. Balanced.

About wine:
Dense garnet red. Pleasant, inviting bouquet with spicy and fruity notes. It stands out for the freshness of its fruit with hints of raspberries and a touch of licorice wood. The attack confirms its potential, presenting a delicious and perfectly balanced wine. I would even say it is slender, with the necessary balance and density. A pleasant, seductive, and convincing wine. 2022-2038
