"A Crus Bourgeois recommended by critics!"
“This rich, velvety wine issophisticated and bursting with black fruit. A blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, it is grown on deep gravel soils in the southern Médoc. Rich and full-bodied, with a hint of mint from its time in oak, the wine should be ready to drink starting in 2023.” (Wine Enthusiast 2019)

Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 1 star (A high-quality, recommended wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
Martine Cazeneuve, who already owned property in the Côtes de Blaye, took over this estate on the left bank in 1989. She worked tirelessly to restore it to its former glory, replanting the vineyards and renovating the buildings. She also owns a Margaux estate, Château La Bessane, and a Moulis estate, Château La Garricq. She has recently handed over management of the property to her son Pierre. Today, Paloumey, currently in the process of converting to organic farming, has rediscovered the classic Médoc spirit that made it so successful.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2019 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the estate:
A lovely sandy-gravelly terroir situated between the classified growths La Lagune and Cantemerle. The estate enjoyed its heyday in the 19th century, before falling into decline following the phylloxera crisis and being revived in the 20th century. The story would be unremarkable were it not for the woman behind its revival—a woman who, moreover, is a winemaker in the Blaye region. Martine Cazeneuve crossed the estuary in 1990 to acquire this estate, which had lost both its vineyards and its winery. Joined in 2014 by her son Pierre, the winemaker now manages 34 hectares, currently in the process of converting to organic farming.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 90/100 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
A refined and mature style, with flavors of plum and blackberry purée, complemented by notes of vanilla and burnt tobacco and underpinned by a solid graphite-driven structure. Best enjoyed through 2029.

About the wine:
This smooth, medium-bodied Haut-Médoc offers aromas of milk chocolate and red berries, with just enough tannins to balance its lovely ripe flavors. The finish is lively and easy-drinking.

Yves Beck
Wine rated (2018 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Medium garnet red. A pleasantly fresh bouquet. Notes of licorice, blackberries, and blackcurrants. A delicious, fruity attack. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a creamy texture that lends it density. The structure provides freshness and perfectly supports the fruit. The finish still needs to gain some suppleness, but the wine as a whole is already very exciting. We’re not far off 92/100. 2022–2034
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2019 guide) 92/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is aromatic, well-structured, and offers a delicate concentration. It reveals notes of blackberry and blackcurrant, along with lighter hints of wild strawberry and wild raspberry, combined with subtle touches of blueberry and violet, as well as discreet hints of licorice and caramelization. The palate is fruity, balanced, and offers good definition, a subtle mineral backbone, a delicate juiciness, freshness, and a lovely finesse of texture. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy, fleshy blackberry and fleshy raspberry, along with lighter hints of small, fleshy berries, combined with subtle touches of flowers and licorice, as well as discreet hints of chocolate (in the background) and caramelization. Good length.
