2025 Highlights
Pack of 6 wooden boxes

“The silky texture of the opening notes hints at a wine built on elegance. Its future looks particularly promising!”

“Rich aromas of blackcurrant, at once almost sweet and fresh—a very inviting nose, with notes of cola and flint as well. The floral note, however, is incredible, so aromatic. Slender and long on the palate, this wine is precise, with a clear and very savory expression, as well as a magnificent juiciness—almost a sweetness that makes you smile, before tightening up and firming up on a note of crushed stone on the finish. More red fruits than black, much like the Ferrière. A beautiful structure with such soft tannins, truly impeccable, with distinct notes of cola and flint.” (Decanter 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated (2026 guide) 94-95/100

About the wine:

With its noble rose aroma, we must wait for its beautiful body—still slightly tight at present—to continue to refine itself, but its future looks particularly promising.

Gault & Millau Wine Guide

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau

Rated estate (2012 guide) 2** stars (Successful production)

About the estate:

“The château owes its name to the Durfort de Duras family, a powerful family from the Southwest who settled in Margaux in the 14th century; in 1824, the Viscount de Vivens added his own name. Owned by the Lurton family since 1937, Gonzague took over the estate in 1992 and modernized its operations. Located in the communes of Margaux, Cantenac, and Soussans, the Durfort-Vivens vineyard benefits from a terroir of deep gravelly ridges ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon.”

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2026 guide) 95-96/100

About the wine:

An already complex and well-rounded wine, with aromas of berries, cherry, orange peel, terracotta, and dried mushrooms. Medium-bodied, it offers a lovely fruity core and crisp tannins. A savory finish. A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot, made from biodynamically grown grapes certified by Demeter.

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2026 guide) 95-96/100

About the wine:

The bouquet is beautifully intense, with notes of blackcurrant, black pepper, and violets, followed by a hint of licorice. The silky character of the attack heralds a wine built on elegance. Linear, it features compact, velvety tannins that are well-defined and provide a well-structured vigor. They go hand in hand with a structuring acidity that enhances the freshness and definition on the palate. A savory, mouth-watering wine. 2030–2050
