About the estate:
Founded in the 15th century by Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes, acquired in 1952 by Alexis Lichine, and then by the wine merchant Bass & Charrington in 1971, this estate lay dormant until its acquisition in 2001 by the American investment fund Colony Capital. A major program was launched under the leadership of Dominique Befve, formerly of the Rothschild estates, to revitalize this vast, highly fragmented 112-hectare vineyard. Lascombes, acquired by MACSF in 2011, has now regained its former standing.

The new owner makes no secret of his ambition to elevate Lascombes to the level of a very good second-growth wine. Under the leadership of Dominique Befve, the wine has already made significant progress in recent years, taking another step forward in the early 2010s. It is now consistent in quality.
