"Worthy of a Cru Classé adorned with a collector's label!"

"Graphite and spices, slightly smoky, the nose of Siran 2020 is complex and fresh. Very nice on the palate, fine and precise, fresh and delicate for a Margaux that is all delicacy, finesse, and precision. All the delicacy of Margaux in this magnificent terroir. And what's more, it is elegantly fresh. Stylistic progression for this vintage, which was already a fine reference. (Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing 2021) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

This Margaux vineyard, located on the beautiful gravel soils of Labarde, has been managed by Édouard Miailhe since 2007. Siran wines are always charming in their youth and become more complex with age, with notes of old rose and spices giving them finesse and elegance. Siran wines could be classified as Margaux classics. Since the 2015 vintage, there has been a slight shift in style, which now tends towards extreme power. To be continued.

Wine noted (guide 2024) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About wine:

With a beautiful depth of color, the 2020 Siran opens with engaging and complex aromas of ripe red fruits (raspberry, redcurrant), violet, undergrowth, and spices. On the palate, it is straightforward, fresh, refined, elegant, with serious but not harsh tannins and a beautiful, dynamic, fruity finish. A clean, precise Margaux. 2027-2033

About the estate:

Formerly owned by Toulouse-Lautrec's great-grandmother, Ch. Siran became part of the Miailhe family in 1859. Since 2007, Édouard Miailhe has been at the helm. The vineyard covers 36 hectares: 9 hectares in Bordeaux Supérieur, 2 hectares in Haut-Médoc, and 25 hectares in Margaux, south of the appellation area, on the gravelly plateau of Labarde; a terroir of such high quality that it would undoubtedly have earned it a place in the famous 1855 classification had the Miailhe family arrived earlier.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 95/100

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About wine:

We tasted the 2020 vintage, which lives up to all expectations and will establish itself as the best Siran we know. A very well-balanced wine, taut and precise, with great length and classy tannins. It can be left to age in the cellar.

About the estate:

This superbly located Margaux vineyard deserves to be ranked among the classified growths, especially since, under the leadership of Edouard Miailhe, it has risen to its highest level. Its remarkable terroir, located in the southernmost commune of the appellation (Labarde), extends over a superb plateau of siliceous gravel. Tasting the older vintages that the château is fortunate to have in its wine cellar gives an insight into the full potential of the cru. The last decade has seen it reach truly remarkable levels that will age beautifully.

About wine:

Barrel sample. All the elements are present in this wine from the southern tip of Margaux. This is a very promising estate, and the wine combines great tannins with richly defined black fruit. It will age well.

Terre de Vins

Wine rated (2021 guide) 94/100

About wine:

The nose reveals crushed strawberries and delicate notes of cherry brandy. A beautiful attack, rich, full, and flavorful, hints at a wine that will age well. A Siran that is as appealing in its structure as it is in its aromatic palette.
