Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Winery rated 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable production that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Now it is the very serious and enthusiastic Mélanie Barton-Sartorius who is applying her expertise as an oenologist, combined with her family’s long-standing winemaking tradition, to this estate purchased five years ago by her parents. The result speaks for itself. A wine with character, combining the exuberance of Moulis, the distinction of the terroir, and the balance achieved through skillful winemaking and grapes harvested at just the right moment. This is undoubtedly an estate to watch, one that has already made its mark in the appellation.

About the wine:

The 2015 vintage is appealing, in keeping with the family’s winemaking style, with a beautiful expression of fruit and an expressive, smooth palate.

About the estate:

This estate, which had been struggling for a long time, has been given a new lease on life since its acquisition by the Barton family (Léoville Barton and Langoa Barton). It is run by Anthony’s granddaughter, Mélanie Sartorius. Today, the wines produced here reflect the velvety and smooth character of the family’s wines, which have been a resounding success. These are very approachable and highly recommended wines.
